Best of April 2016 II Beauty & Lifestyle

Hey, April is nearly over and so it's time for a blogpost about my favorites, as you liked my last one so much, I thought it would be a good idea to write a new one .  I hope you like it.

Beauty:

Essie  gel setter

As I always paint my nails late in the evening, I usually had to struggle with marks on my nails the next moring. But since I'm using this topcoat, my manicure still looks beautiful days after I've put it on. I'm now using it since a few months, and I'm still impressed, the durability is amazing and it leaves a very shiny finish on my nails.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

This is my favorite perfume, I'm using it since my birthday in October and I'm still so in love. To me, it smells really good, I think the scent isn't too overpowering, so that it's perfect for work or school. 

Mary Kay Lava Berry

Every time I've worn lipstick this month, it was defnitely this one. I know that the color looks really dark on this picture, but in reality it's a very nice berry color. 

Books:

My favorite book this month was "a work in progress" by Connor Franta. It's actually a memoir, but to me it's more some kind of an inspiration and motivation book. Since I've read this book, I'm carrying a lot of motivation with me and I think that's why I love this book so much. In my own opinion Connor has written a little masterpiece, I'm really happy that I've bought this book.

Lifestyle & Highlights:

So let's hop over to a new category, I've decided to show you this month also my lifestyle favorites. Let's start off with a new passion I've discovered for me, poetry. I've read a great number of poems in April and I've also found enjoyment in writting my own poems.

Another lifestyle favorite this month were flowers, we used to have tulips at home during the whole month. 

Last but not least we have art. Art plays a very important role in my life and especially this month I've noticied how much I like it.  

I also have two highlights this month, they're very important to me, so I decided to talk to you about these. Firstly we have the fact that I've finally decided to cut my hair. I've cut off almost 20 cm, I know this is a lot, but I'm now so glad that I had the courage to do it. 

Secondly, there's my new blog design, I'm personally very proud of myself, because I never believed that I could do this on my own.

Music:

At the end, there's only one category left, but it's my favorite category. Everyone has another tast in music, and this is why I know that not everyone of you likes the music I'm listening to, but I've tried to create a playlist (summer vibes '16) on spotify (_mademoisellecoccinelle_) which contains summer pop songs that everyone should know and perhaps also like. For those of you who like to listen to loud/alternative music, I've also a playlist (alternative). So basically these two playlists are my favorites as well as the song "Golden -> Brandon Beal ft. Lukas Graham".

My favorite songs from the playlists are: 

"Paranoia -> ADTR", "Shine On -> The Amity Affliction" and "Bright -> Echosmith"

The sun is finally out II Fashion & Thoughts

Hey I hope you've had a nice weekend and that you're ready for Monday. It's finally time for a new blogpost, this one is going to be a fashion post, but also some kind of a post about some thoughts I've had lately. I hope you're a as exited as I am.

Firstly, I want to tell you a little story:
A few days ago, the weather was really sunny and agreable in Luxembourg, so I decided to walk to school with my headphones on, my music was way to loud so I couldn't hear anything. As I walked through school, I looked in the faces of the others students, which walked by. It was still early, but I was able to see some happiness in their faces, most of the teenagers were talking to each other and seemed to be in a good mood. Some days later I did the same thing again, but on this day, the weather was really bad, it nearly rained the whole day, I noticed that most of the students looked tired and sad. This made me think about our happiness. Have you ever had that feeling that you're in a good mood because the wearther's nice? I think that the weather can influence really well our temper. Ok, I know this is nothing new, but you know what, this made me realize that January the first is totally the wrong day to make new resolutions. We should decide to change something whenever we're in a good mood, whenever the weather's good. What do you think? In my personal opinion spring is the perfect time to change something in our life. Let me know your opinion in the comments if you like.  I forgot to say that this is only my opinion, so you don't have to agree with me, of course you can also make new resolutions whenever you want or leave them aside and try to make the best out of everyday

As I mentioned before, I also want to give you some outfit inspiration to take along. So here we go, this outfit is very simple and casual, I think it's the perfect outfit for school or even for a shopping day. I also want to let you know that these pictures were taken in Mertert, a small town in Luxembourg. I hope you like it.

Follow your dreams II Thoughts

Hey,

today's blogpost is very different from all the others I've written before, but it's the most important post for me.

As I'm a very shy person when I speak to people I don't know, I tend to hide my own opinion. So the video I share with you today is completely my own opinion, it's something I wanted to speak out loud for a very long time. I know that not everyone will agree with me, but I hope that there's someone outside who can take some motivation or inspiration from my video.

Chocolate Chip Cookies II Food

Recipe

Hello and welcome back,

I decided to show you today how I made these delicious chocolate chip cookies. Acutally, I think nearly everyone who knows me also knows the taste of these cookies. (this sounds kind of weird but it's true) Some years ago, I wanted to bake some cookies and this is the recipe  I've created. I hope you like it.

                                                                  Ingredients:

                                                                                - 1 tsp salt     

                                                                                - 140g sugar

                                                                                - 140g brown sugar

                                                                                - 250g flour

                                                                                - 2 eggs

                                                                                - 1 tbsp vanilla sugar

                                                                                - 200g chocolate chips

                                                                                - 200g butter

Directions:

1. Preheat the over to 170°C.
2. Put salt, sugar and brown sugar into a bowl, then add flour, eggs, butter (room temperature) and vanilla sugar.
3. Now its time to mix it all together until it's good combined, and finally you only have to add chocolate chips.
4. Use two tablespoons to form little cookies and put them on the backing sheets.
5. Bake for about 15 minutes in the preheated oven, until they're golden brown. 
6. Enjoy !

Eleanor & Park II Lifestyle

book review

as I told you some days ago, I wanted to write a whole review about the book Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, so here it is. Firstly I want to say that I know that my english isn't perfect (it's my third year of english in school) and that it's really difficult to put into words the feelings you have after you've read this book, but I hope you like it anyway.

Eleanor and Park are the main characters in the novel, basically the book's written in the perspective of both, so it's difficult to say what's the central problem. But I'm going to start with the problem both have, it's love. 

Eleanor's dealing with a very bad home life, she has never learned what it's like to be truly in love. In contrast to Park, who lives in a perfect family. His parents are still extremely in love with each other and they take care of Park and his little brother. 

When Eleanor and Park fall for each other, it's difficult for them to understand the doubts of each other.

As I mentioned before, Park's life is almost perfect, he's good-looking and has some good friends. But Eleanor's life is much darker, she also has to deal with bullies. People judge her because of her dressing, her weight and because of her bright red hair.

short summary:

On Eleanor's first day of school, no one gives her a seat on the bus, Until Park "the weird Asian boy" offers her a seat. Over some weeks, they share silent bus rides, but one day Eleanor begins to read Park's comic books over his shoulder. From this day on, Park brings comic books and music tapes with him on the bus to share them with Eleanor. They don't really speak, but they begin holding hands. 

As Park and Eleanor's feelings for each other grow, they want to spend more time together, which is very difficult because of Eleanor's stepfather Richie.

On day, Park's mother encourages them to go out together. After Eleanor comes home that night she notices that Richie has found out everything about Park. So Eleanor knows that he would kill her if she stays. Obviously Park wants to help her, so he drives her all the way from Omaha to her uncle's house in Minnesota.

Over the next few months, they don't talk or see each other anymore. Until the day Eleanor finally decides to write him a postcard, which is only three words long. These three words are the mystery about Eleanor and Park. 

my own opinion:

In my own opinion, I think this book is amazing, it's a very powerful, heartbreaking and emotional novel. I think Eleanor & Park is a book that shows how easy it is to judge other people we don't even really know. (only by their appearance or their actions) In fact it's a book, which everyone should read once in their life, even if it's something that you would never read, I'll recommend it to you.
